Ft. Drum Feeder Marches Meet Up in Pulaski

The three Feeder Marches - from Utica, Ithaca, and Rochester — met up in Pulaski, NY, Wednesday afternoon.

The Marchers met for an evening of sharing Walk highlights at St. Francis Farm, just outside Pulaski, where they were treated to a home-grown meal and overnight hospitality.

Several members of IVAW - in addition to the IVAW members who have been along the entire March - joined in for the evening of reflection and rest. Over forty citizens and soldiers shared their March stories, ate, sang, and rested up.

Two days are left for the Marchers, culminating on Saturday at the Ft. Drum Spring Festival, at Black Water River Park and Campgrpounds, a Festival free and open to the public, with great live music, information booths, games for the kids — free and open to the public.

The few controntations along the way from soldiers “proud to be a soldier,” were overshadowed by the heartfelt stories of family members who came to their doors as the March passed by, took leaflets, engaged in sharing fears and hopes, and offered not only good wishes but food and drink.

Grass roots efforts in living color!
